Some artists are good, less are great, and fewer still become legendary. Such is the case with Rick Griffin.
Griffin is considered an “Original Loco” and a true SoCal archetype. He grew up in the racially mixed Lakewood area in the ‘50s and was impacted by surf, cholo and Kustom culture. Through his art, he profoundly impacted the worlds of surf and rock, from the early surf character "Murphy", the Rolling Stone magazine logo, iconic images for Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead and classic surf films Pacific Vibrations,Tales from the Tube and more.
CALIFORNIA LOCOS is proud to present this limited collaboration with the Rick Griffin Estate as our tribute to one of SoCal’s greatest.
